Background

having more than 79.000 employees in over 80 countries, Schlumberger is one of the first oil extraction companies in the world. Extraction fields are scattered on all the continents (including Antarctics), and on more than 30 oil platforms.

The challenge

In order to coordinate with the employees in all its locations, Schlumberger provided them with a complex internal portal that collected all the information from various extraction fields. To this end, a terminal was needed, easy to install in the common spaces, easy to use by the employees and robust enough to endure the hard working conditions on the oil rigs.

The Solution

TomTouch offered the TomTouch Classic Model - a robust info-kiosk having a touchscreen and a keypad, branded in the Schlumberger colours. More than 30 such info-kiosks were delivered on all the continents and support the company intranet, serving 40.000 employees. Due to the good cooperation between the two, TomTouch became the sole distributor for interactive terminals to Schlumberger Worldwide.
